First day in Bangkok

After a couple of long flights, we're finally in Bangkok. The city is hot and loud, but beautiful and full of temples the Thai call wats. The people are extremely friendly and helpful, even the ones trying to grift you of some cash. We spent the morning walking around one of the most touristy areas (the Great Palace and Wat Phra Kaew). It was flooded with tourists, as it is a must see. The rest of the day was filled roaming various outdoor markets filled with vendors selling everything from great Thai food to dentures. It's currently 6:00pm local time and we're heading out to a place called Khao San Road - another tourist scene, but filled with bars and market stalls (great people watching).

The next couple of posts will have pictures from today.
