Best meal yet
Today in Vientiane, we had the best meal of our trip to date. It was at a Chinese restaurant called Vieng Sawan in the Chinatown district of the capital. We ordered their signature dish: pork meatballs (they look more like what we call sausages). The waitress was nice enough to show us how to put it all together. You use rice paper and lettuce as your recepticle then add a little of the following: mint, garlic, oregano, green banana, cucumber, cilantro, bean sprouts, star fruit and some seriously dangerous little green Lao chili. You wrap it all together and top it with a mini-spoonfull of some sweet peanut sauce. Although hard to accomplish most times, it should be eaten in one bite. Best. Meal. Ever.
