Think Indiana Jones. This temple, built in the 12th century, has been subsumed by the jungle, so much so that they had to trim it back a few years ago. The state provides you with a guide to walk the grounds, we believe for safety reasons. The whole temple complex was eerie and mysterious. Bang Maelea was about a hour and a half drive from Siem Reap and as a result there were only a few other tourists roaming the grounds.
