Dinner in Dalat
On our first night in Dalat, we ate at a restaurant that serves only one dish, beef pho. Mike thought it was the best pho of the trip so far.
Pho, a rice-noddle soup, can be served with pork, chicken, beef or just veggies. We have found that the better the quality of meat, the better the pho overall. We have run into some suspect meat that has been way too fatty, which downgrades the whole pho experience (in our opinion). Another element to good pho is the plate of accroutraments that can come with the dish to add to the soup for flavor. Normally basil, bean sprouts and lime are served, but we have experienced dishes with all of the above, none of the above and all of the above plus more (e.g., garlic, onions). There is usually also fresh chilis to add in to your liking. This concludes the pho lesson (by two white people).
